Lime plays a crucial part in the treatment of waste waters and does so in a way that is both economic and effective. The neutralisation of acidic effluent, a waste product of a variety of industrial processes, can be safely achieved with a milk produced from hydrated lime or quicklime. The addition of lime also has the benefit of eliminating evil smelling odours. Lime is therefore ensures that the potential hazards of toxic organic wastes, heavy metals pathogenic germs and bacteria and malodorants are largely removed.
